Ai Applied | How we work

The partners in Ai Applied are experienced in CIO-level IT and project management, systems design, infrastucture design, information modelling, and consultancy on a strategic and a practical level, while having an academic background in Artificial Intelligence. Supporting the partners, there is a large international network of associated experts, that includes acadamic personel and software development teams. These experts are used on a per-project basis, allowing Ai Applied to always have the right know-how and the right hands on the project, while keeping the overhead costs low, resulting in a competitively priced offering. Amongst other parties we have a strong collaboration with the University of Amsterdam.

Many projects that involve Artificial Intelligence involve both the use of cutting-edge technologies and of proven methods. We use all methods that we know, through experience, will yield good results. Nevertheless, every project is different, and we initially approach every project through a multi-step process, going through the following steps:

Intake
Feasiblity study
Pilot project
Full project

For intake, we organise one or multiple informal meetings during which we discuss the wishes of the client, required and available data and support and we assess the technical feasibility of different aspects of the proposed project. This is generally followed by a feasibility study in which we gain an in-depth understanding of the domain and associated data, and we research in detail if and how the project can be approached technically. Based on the feasibility study, we make an estimate of the project duration and cost. Depending on the size and estimated risk of the project, we then either move to full project realization yielding deliverables, or, for larger projects, we initiate a pilot project to produce a working proof-of-concept solution before moving to a full scale deployment. Using this phased approach, we can minimize the risk for our clients even with uncertain projects such as those found in R&D.

Unlike most of our competitors, Ai Applied by default turns over the intellectual property rights for deliverables to the client. In this way, we create both practical and intellectual value for our clients.
